Can Tom Hopkins Make You A Salesperson? For many years, I have tried to start my own business with the thought that I would not sell products or services; I would choose a product or service that 'sold itself.' Having never had direct training in marketing, I don't know any secrets or have a strategy for success. Needless to say, I didn't have success either. I have come to believe that if you want your own business, you either need to sell a product or a service or otherwise you have no profit! Big revelation, right? Well, to me it was; because I was of a different mindset. Having said all of that, I decided that if I was going to be independent, I needed to learn to become a salesperson, so I needed training and quick. This is where the internet came into play. A friend had mentioned Tom Hopkins Sales Training to me, so I thought I would investigate. sure enough, I found his website announcing that he is 'sales legend.' Well, that is what I wanted, a sale legend to teach me how to do sales. Sounds easy enough, doesn't it. Mr. Hopkin's believes that some people have a natural ability to sell; they can sell snow to an Eskimo without even trying so to speak. However, if you combine that natural ability with "how to" training, you will find the secret to the highest level of sales productivity. He also says he learned this lesson the hard way, and I can relate to that and am probably relating to some of you right now. Mr. Hopkin's early sales career was 'not successful.' After realizing that fact, he received some professional training and became an extremely dedicated student. He refined his sales techniques, enabling him to become the sales leader in his industry. When I finished reading about Mr. Hopkins, I was convinced that I really needed to study his methods and become a better me as the saying goes. In order to do this, my first thought was to attend a seminar. Upon investigation, I discovered that there is a 'boot camp' given only once every year that is held in Tom's hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona. There are seven steps in a sales cycle that are outlined in detail at this event. This sounds like a great first step. You can also find information available on the website regarding free sales resources; training products - books & DVD's, audios, real estate products, monthly online training and information about Tom Hopkins Sales Training seminars and more information on the Boot Camp Sales Mastery event. |
